March 2021 - A Lot of Zoom Calls

This month's update is from our Artistic Director Emma Cochrane.

Hellooo!

Emma C here with this month’s blog. Well, this month was INSANE. In the best way possible. We have had so many exciting announcements on partnerships and new work and… We're organizing a festival!?

I had such a fun month going through all our applications to prepare for this project with the team and we did some great zoom interviews with some exciting theatre makers. I think I speak for the whole team when I say that the process of reading over pitches and interviewing for the performances was so challenging, purely because the ideas were so exciting and unique, and everyone was so lovely. It made for a long night for us whittling it down, so I would like to take the chance to sincerely thank everyone again who applied. I think this might be one of our most ambitious projects to date, but I feel like it may also be one of the most rewarding things that we have taken on. Aside from this we have also individually been working hard and attending various workshops to improve our skills including a helpful workshop about successfully running events on zoom with some handy tips and tricks using the software (how interesting? I wonder if that will be important…). It has been so great to be able to continue learning new things and discussing theatre with other creatives throughout these difficult times and I can’t wait to get myself signed up for more! It makes me so happy that throughout everything we still have these opportunities to learn and try out new things.
