Framework Festival '24

Framework Festival is back! This hybrid festival presents digital and in-person workshops for artists across Scotland, as well as opportunities for in-person networking and development! Do you want to take part in our scratch performances at the event?

We are seeking three emerging/early-career performers to each present one of two 15-minute play excerpts at the Traverse Theatre on the 29th June 2024. Each play will get an hour of rehearsal on the day before being performed scratch-style, script-in-hand, in front of the Framework Festival audience at the Traverse Theatre.

Framework Festival is funded by the National Lottery via Creative Scotland.

Fee: £150 + Holiday Pay for one day's work on the 29th June.

Access & Travel Support will be provided.

Deadline: 12pm (noon) on Monday 17th June 2024.

Track 1 - The Receptionist, transmasculine, any ethnicity, early-to-mid 20s. 

(Please note we are explicitly seeking transgender performers for this role)

Young, well-kept, confident, and has gotten very comfortable at his job.


Track 2 - Max, any gender, any ethnicity, in their 20s.

A down-on-their-luck drama school graduate, prone to feeling stuck and unmotivated. Impulsive, Imaginative, Empathetic.


Track 3 - Ali, any gender, any ethnicity, in their 20s.

Powering through in an entry-level finance job which is already beginning to feel suffocating. Pragmatic, Type-A, Skeptical.
